We think someone opened our front door around 7:15 in the morning, heard Bethy moving around in the basement or me in the bathroom upstairs, and high-tailed it out of here.

In that scenario, we also think Smokey–who hadn’t been put in the basement with his brother Bandit–took off out the door.

Smokey and Bandit are our cats. They’re inside cats, so going outside is both intriguing to them and frightening.

Anyway, it doesn’t matter now, because Smokey came back! I found him under the deck in the back this morning. Yay!

Bandit has been hissing and growling at him a bit today. I guess that’s what he gets for taking off. I have to wonder if Bandit’s not disappointed that he won’t get 100% of the attention now!
